Kamal Haasan Pays Emotional Tribute To Queen Elizabeth II

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to mourn the loss of Queen ELeizabeth II. The Queen passed away on September 8 at Balmoral after battling health problems. Elizabeth and Kamal Haasan had a special connection. 25 years ago, Queen Elizabeth was invited as the chief guest for the launch of his unfinished film, Marudhanayagam. The Queen accepted the offer and then shared the stage with then TN chief miniter M Karunanidhi and several others. She also visited the sets of Marudhanayagam and spent 20 minutes on the set. Taking to Twitter, Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to pay last respects.

His tweets are roughly translated as, "I was saddened to hear the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II of England, who had been the queen for seventy years. She was loved not only by the British but also by the whole world. 25 years ago, she accepted our invitation and attended the opening ceremony of Marudhanyagam. It was probably the only film shoot she attended. I still vividly remember meeting her at the palace 5 years ago at a cultural event in London. My deepest condolences to the people of England and the Royal Family for the loss of their beloved Queen (sic)."
