Kamal Haasan's first message after surgery

While hosting the grand finale of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4, Kamal Haasan revealed that he will be taking some time off from his work and election campaign as he had to get a follow-up surgery in his ankle. He also added that he superseded the doctor's advice and toured Tamil Nadu to campaign for his party, Makkal Needhi Maiam, for the upcoming Assembly Election. On January 19, the doctors at Sri Ramachandra Hospital in Chennai performed the surgery and it was successful. It took a few hours for Kamal Haasan to completely wean off from the sedatives.

On January 19 night, he took to Twitter to update fans about his surgery. He tweeted in Tamil and said that people's love is his medicine. His first tweet after surgery is translated as, "The surgery was successful. Big thanks to the doctors' team at Sri Ramchandra Hospital. Till I recover, I wish to interact here and in the hearts of the people. People's love is my medicine. I wish to see them soon." Kamal Haasan, in a recent interview, assured that they would get votes in three digits in the upcoming election, which is scheduled to happen in May.
