Buddha Purnima is observed on May 5 to commemorate Lord Buddha's, also known as Mahatma Buddha's, birth anniversary. Actress Kangana Ranaut urged her followers to meditate on Buddha Purnima on Instagram Stories to commemorate the Buddhist festival. She spoke of how he came to be Lord Buddha. Kangana added, "Indians never get enough credit for leading the world," citing Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, and Lord Krishna as examples.
Kangana wrote, "Before he became Buddha, he was just a boy called Siddhartha. Indians never get enough credit for leading the world...", along with a drawing of Buddha.
