Kangana Ranaut's long-pending film Thalaivii, directed by AL Vijay, is all set to grace the screens soon. The film is an official biography based on the life of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa. The film was earlier slated to release in theatres on April 23. However, the makers had to postpone the film's release due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. On August 23, Vibri Media, one of the production houses of Thalaivii, released a new poster of Thalaivii in Tamil, English and Telugu. Thalaivii will release on the celluloid on September 10.
Kangana Ranaut and Vibri Media took to Twitter and wrote, "The story of this iconic personality deserves to be witnessed only on the BIG SCREEN! Pave way, for #Thalaivii as she is all set to make a superstar entry into the world of cinema, yet again, a place where she has always belonged! Thalaivii IN CINEMAS near you on 10th September! (sic)."
The film was earlier titled Thalaivi, but it has now been changed to Thalaivii due to reasons best known to the team. Apart from Kangana Ranaut and Arvind Swami, Thalaivii features Nassar, Bhagyashree, Samuthirakani, Madhu Bala, Thambi Ramaiah, Poorna and Vidya Pradeep in crucial roles.
