A star-studded night known as the South Indian International Awards 2022 (SIIMA) was dominated by well-known actors like Allu Arjun, Rana Daggubati, Rashmika Mandanna, Pooja Hegde, and many more. It's interesting to note that the award ceremony also honored the late Kannada star, Puneeth Rajkumar. On award night, he was given the Yuvarathnaa Best Actor in a Leading Role (Kannada) award in his honor.
It's interesting to note that Yuvarathnaa's entire team cheerfully accepted the honor on his behalf. SIIMA tweeted about the same while giving fans a look at it. The post's caption stated, “When Late Puneeth Rajkumar ascended to heaven, the Kannada film industry lost one of its most valuable stars. SIIMA is humbled to present him with the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Kannada) for the movie Yuvarathnaa. We thank the Yuvarathnaa team for accepting it on his behalf”.
For those who are unaware, the Yuvaranthnaa star died in October 2021 after experiencing a major cardiac arrest. When the late actor was only six months old, he made his cinematic debut alongside his father. Puneeth later received a National Film Award for Best Child Artist in recognition of his work in the 1985 movie "Bettada Hoovu." Along with singing and dancing, he was an accomplished actor and vocalist.
