Kannada Film Producer Kapali Mohan commits suicide in Bangalore

The incident came to light when a staff member knocked on his door and received no response. The staff immediately alerted the police, after which Mohan was found dead. According to close friends and family, Mohan has been in a state of financial ruin over the past couple of years. His businesses had suffered huge losses due to several failed projects. It is to be noted that his offices were raided by the CBI on charges of illegal gambling. He was also charged under the Karnataka Money Lenders Act Karnataka Prohibition of Charging Exorbitant Interest Act 2004 for alleged charging exorbitant rates of interest. Mohan used to run a financial firm called Balaji Finance which was also raided by the CBI. The CBI raids cost him several of his documents, duly signed black promisory notes, signed black cheques and several property documents.
