Kantara 2 Will Be A Prequel, Rishab Shetty Reveals: What You Have Seen Is Part 2, Part 1 Will Come Next Year
Actor-director Rishab Shetty has stated that Kantara, which has become the biggest-grossing movie of all time in Karnataka, will have a prequel. Kantara 2 is scheduled to be released in 2024.
The highly awaited Kantara 2 has been making the rounds in rumours for a while. Actor-director Rishab Shetty has finally provided some clarity. At a celebration in Bengaluru for Kantara's 100-day theatrical run and enormous success, Rishab discussed Kantara 2 and said that it will be released in theatres all over the world in 2024.
According to Rishab, Kantara's second part is what viewers saw. The second part, Kantara 2, will serve as the origin story's prequel. He also stated that he has started writing the script for Kantara 2. "We thank the audience for their immense love and support for Kantara. With the blessing of almighty Daiva, the film has successfully completed 100 days and I would like to take this opportunity to announce the prequel of the film," Rishab recently stated.
Rishab continued, “What you have seen is actually Part 2, Part 1 will come next year. The idea came to my mind while I was shooting for Kantara. It is because the history of Kantara has more depth to it. Currently, we are in the middle of digging into more details. As the research is still underway, it would be very early to reveal details about the film.”
Kantara, which translates to "mystical forest," tells the tale of a local demigod (Bhoota) who, in 1870, bargains with a king to give the tribe's people forest land in exchange for happiness. Years later, when the king's son becomes greedy and demands the land back, he dies at Bhoota's hands.
Over 400 cr. were made worldwide by the Rishab Shetty-directed movie. It has become the all-time top-grossing movie in Karnataka. Rishab recently joined his family at the Bhoota Kola festival to celebrate the enormous success of his movie Kantara. The celebration of Bhoota Kola, one of Kantara's key features, was masterfully reenacted in the movie. This was greatly influenced by Panjurli Daiva's divinity.
