Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan among others joined other Bollywood stars in raising their voices against the building of the Metro shed. When on the one hand, Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan supported the government's decision many others went on to Twitter to express their anger.
Last night filmmaker Karan Johar
tweeted , "Massacre is what this is! We are our own worst enemy! Infrastructure can never precede nature! We need to STOP! #SaveAarey." Oddly it generated flak when a lot of twitteratis pointed out the hypocrisy. Calling them out on the existing film.city. Built almost two decades ago, the film city lies near the Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
Pointing out that the film city is 20 times the size of the proposed metro shed, many repelled Karan Johar's opinion.
Later however, Varun Dhawan while addressing the same issue commented on how it's not a blame game at the end of it all. And while the film city has some faults, we should think about the present and the future and not the past.
