In her upcoming movie, Kareena Kapoor will play a role that draws inspiration from Kate Winslet's Emmy-winning portrayal in the online series Mare of Easttown. In the United Kingdom, the actress finished her most recent project, which is directed by Hansal Mehta. She portrays a mother as well as a detective who is tasked with investigating a murder in a rural area of Buckinghamshire. 'The Buckingham Murders' is the tentative title for the next movie.
Kareena will make her production debut with the movie, which is made by Balaji Telefilms and Mahana Film. The actor revealed that Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms and filmmaker Hansal persuaded her to join the team as a producer. Kareena claims that 80% of the conversation in the film is in English and only 20% is in Hindi.
In an interview with Hollywood trade publication Variety, Kareena discussed her role in The Buckingham Murders. She said, “I love Mare of Easttown and when Hansal came to me, I said this is something that I’ve really been dying to do. So we’ve moulded a little bit on those lines, she plays a detective cop in that. It’s the first time that I’ve dabbled in that.”
Kareena has also finished Sujoy Ghosh's The Devotion of Suspect X. It is an official adaptation of the well-known book by Japanese author Higashino Keigo. In the Netflix movie, which serves as Kareena's OTT debut, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma are also featured.
Kareena will start filming for The Crew in March in addition to The Buckingham Murders and The Devotion of Suspect X. The movie is being directed by Rajesh Krishnan. It also features Tabu and Kriti Sanon. The actress claimed it was very distinct from her prior two movies. She also stated that it would have all the gloss and glitz of her earlier work. She referred to it as "a comedy chick flick heist film".
