Karthik Subbaraj gets nostalgic on Petta anniversary

Director Karthik Subbaraj is one of the very few filmmakers who has gotten the opportunity to do a film with Rajinikanth. When his film with Rajinikanth firmed up, Karthik Subbaraj decided to churn out a film that will celebrate Rajinikanth and his epic mannerisms that have defined childhood for many people.

Petta has a star-studded cast featuring Rajinikanth, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Sasikala, Trisha, Malavika Mohanan, Megha Akash and Sananth Reddy. The film, which released on January 10 last year, impressed Rajinikanth’s ardent fans.
Today, the film is celebrating its first anniversary and it has made Karthik Subbaraj nostalgic and emotional. He took to Twitter and said that the film has taught him many things. He wrote, “One year since the day that gave the unforgettable awesome life-changing moments to me and everyone in the team. Thanks to Thalaivar & @sunpictures. Big thanks to audience & the wonderful thalaivar fans for all the love showered on #Petta. #1YearOfPetta #1yearofRajinifiedBB." (sic)
On the work front, Karthik Subbaraj is currently working with Dhanush for their next project titled Suruli. The film is all set to hit the theatres in the coming months with the title announcement in February.
