Since Telugu actor Nikhil Siddhartha, Anupama Parameswaran, and director Chandoo Mondeti's film 'Karthikeya 2' debuted in theatres on August 13th, the film has been generating headlines for all the right reasons.
The 2014 film 'Karthikeya' sequel follows Dr Karthikeya, who believes in science and logic rather than mindless belief systems.
However, when visiting the city of Dwaraka, he becomes involved in the murder of an archaeological researcher and is forced to pursue the mystery from then on.
The adventure thriller is now refusing to slow down at the global box office. The film allegedly made close to Rs 40 crores in just five days and proved to be one of actor Nikhil's finest movies.
The film, which also stars famous actors Anupam Kher, Adithya Menon, and Srinivasa Reddy, has grossed over Rs 2.7 crores on its fifth day in all languages released.
Aside from providing Bollywood films with serious competition at the theatres, the film is also apparently occupying those underperforming theatres with no viewers. Due to overwhelmingly favourable word of mouth, the Hindi version of the film, which began with only Rs 7 lakhs on day one, proceeds to gather Rs 1.20 crores on day three.
The film is also supposed to be doing well in the United States, where it is expected to cross the $1 million mark soon. Karthik Ghattamaneni cinematographed and edited the film scripted by Chandoo Mondeti, while Kaala Bhairava provided the soundtrack.
