Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan had a wonderful year in 2022 thanks to the critical and commercial success of his two films, Freddy and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. He is prepared to start 2023 off on a high note as anticipation for his next movie Shehzada grows among his audience. In the midst of all this, the actor is getting ready to debut on Rajat Sharma's legendary discussion show, Aap Ki Adalat. He addresses the Bollywood vs. South discussion there.
In the show, which will air tonight, the host asks Kartik why several major Bollywood films have tanked at the box office in the last two years while several top South Indian films have been hits. The actor responded, “Hindi films did not run successfully last year. From the South, only 3 or 4 films became hits. It so happened that two of their films (from South) became hits, while not a single Hindi movie succeeded, but then Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 came and broke all records.”
The actor from Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety continued the debate by discussing the cause of his success. He said, “I can say what Salman Khan once told me, whom I normally meet in parties. He told me, ‘When your film becomes a hit, when others succeed, it’s not a great thing (mazaa nahin aata), but when all other films flop and yours become a hit, then history is created. I asked Salman Sir, is this a compliment, or are you scaring me? Instead of replying, he hugged me.”
In terms of his career, the 32-year-old actor is preparing for Shehzada. Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal, and Manisha Koirala are also cast in the upcoming masala comedy. The movie is scheduled to debut on February 10.
