No matter whether it was the hot chemistry between Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal or Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, people have only showered affection on these couples appearing in Aashiqui. Aashiqui 3 is obviously under a lot of pressure to do well. The producers are reportedly looking for a new leading lady while they have Kartik Aaryan on board as the main guy. Rashmika Mandanna was among the possibilities, particularly after the two collaborated on an ad. But producer Mukesh Bhatt has put an end to any speculation.
The lead actress opposite Kartik Aaryan would be a debutant, said producer Mukesh Bhatt. “We are still looking. I am going through a very extensive search. We want to introduce a new face for Aashiqui 3”, he said. The producer also disclosed that the movie is now in the screenplay phase. It is scheduled to start production the following year.
The producer had earlier disclosed about the film stating, “Evening of 16th Aug 1990, a day before Aashiqui’s release, Gulshanji and me were very nervous, the next day records were broken and history was created. Today with Bhushan, Pritam, Anurag, and the heart rob of the nation Kartik, I assure everyone that Aashiqui 3 will celebrate love like never before.”
Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan also admitted that he had always been a fan of the romantic series. He added, "The timeless classic Aashiqui is something I grew up watching, and working on Aashiqui 3 is like a dream come true! I feel privileged yet grateful for collaborating with Bhushan Sir and Mukesh Sir for this opportunity. I’ve been a big fan of Anurag Sir’s work and collaborating with him on this one is definitely shaped me in many ways.”
Pritam will write the songs for the love musical, which is being directed by Anurag Basu.
