Ben Affleck's cameo in the comedy Jay and the Silent Bob was a high point for Smith who said that the experience helped him "get his friend back". This will be Affleck's seventh appearance in a Smith movie.
Kevin in his interview with Variety at the promotions of Jay and Silent Bob said "Not only did I get to add that character, Holden, who he played in Chasing Amy back into the mix, but it's one of the best scenes in the movie." He said he wrote the role after he got to know about Affleck's plan to return.
At the promotions, Smith was also asked to comment on the news about Sony and Disney getting back together. He said, "I got so many texts this morning from people going, 'Did you see?' and sending me the link to the news about Disney and Sony making up". He continued, "I mean, let's be honest. They know they're going to take all the money from that fanbase. But this is what the fanbase wants.
Talking more about his film which releases on October 15th, Smith talked about how great it would be if his film could adopt the idea of 3 strains of weed in real life. He said, "The movie will be forgotten. The weed will keep going, I'm pretty sure."
