Director Siruthai Siva, after the massive success of Viswasam, managed to impress Superstar Rajinikanth with his script. Now, looking at the cast of Thalaivar 168 (tentative title), it looks like the film is a family drama with a lot of promising stars from the current and previous generation.
Recently, the makers (Sun Pictures) announced that Keerthy Suresh, Meena, and Prakash Raj have finalized. We had earlier reported that Khushbu was in talks to play Rajinikanth's pair. When Meena's inclusion had announced, many thought that Khushbu had declined the offer.
However, in a surprise announcement, Sun Pictures announced that Khushbu is all set to team up with Rajinikanth after 28 years. In a video message, she said, "I am happy to share screen space with Rajini sir after 28 years. We have done several films in the past and our pairing was loved by the audience. I had stayed away from Tamil films for about 8 or 9 years since I wanted to do a good film. I didn't want to be one in the crowd. That's when Siruthai Siva and Sun Pictures approached me. It's a different character. Very rarely people get such opportunities. I hope the audience likes it."
