Actress and BJP leader Khushbu Sundar shared a video of Kollam police arresting a soldier. Kerala Police forcefully arrested a soldier over a local issue. Naik Kiran Kumar of the Madras Regiment was taken into custody by the Kerala Police in such a brutal manner. "Why this brutality, Pinarayi Vijayan Sir?" Khushbu tweeted, tagging Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
But the police said that he attacked them when they came to investigate a complaint involving Kiran Kumar. Meanwhile, the family alleges that the police brutally beat up the soldier. The start of the problems was the crackdown related to the NSS Karayogam election in Kottiyam, Chentapur. The office bearers lodged a complaint with the police, stating that Tulasidharan Pillai, the father of soldier Kirankumar, had attacked the Karayogam office. Tulasidharan Pillai also approached the police, saying that he had been beaten up. In the evening, Kiran Kumar came to the house of President Suresh and abused the women. According to the police, Kiran Kumar assaulted Kotiyam Inspector P Vinod and SI Sujith V Nair, who came to investigate the matter.
Kirankumar was handcuffed and subdued by the police. The police arrested the soldier and his father. The SI and the soldier's mother were injured during the clash. Both sought treatment at Kollam District Hospital. Meanwhile, the soldier's family alleged that the police woke up the soldier, who was sleeping, and beat him up. The Kotiyam police have filed non-bailable charges against the soldier. The police said that Kirankumar has been accused of violent crimes before.
