It has been a year since director Venkat Prabhu and producer Suresh Kamatchi announced their film, Maanadu. The film, which was touted as a political satire features Simbu in the lead role. A few months ago, producer Suresh Kamatchi revealed that he had to drop Simbu from the film because of his non-cooperative behaviour.
Later, producer Suresh Kamatchi gathered a meeting with the members of Producers' Council, which was also attended by Simbu's mother Usha Rajender. When the complaint about Simbu got to put forth, Usha assured that she will make sure that Simbu will attend the film's shooting without fail.
Recently, reporters revealed that Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeep is in talks to play the villain the film. Rumours made the rounds that Venkat Prabhu met the actor to narrate the script and that the actor was impressed by it.
However, Kichcha Sudeep quashed the rumours by saying 'Wrong News' on Twitter. It leaves the team of Maanadu looking for suitable actors to play key roles in the film. Earlier, Kalyani Priyadarshan was chosen to play the female lead in the film.
