Kuruti Is An ‘Extreme Illusion’; B Iqbal With Criticism

The Malayalam movie Kuruthi has been criticized by health expert B Iqbal. Iqbal has come out with a Facebook post trolling the film. The film was released on Amazon Prime on August 11.

Iqbal described the portrayal of terrorism in Kuruthi as an ‘extreme illusion’. “Amazon Prime Kuruthi ends the extreme illusion by loudly declaring that humans’ enduring emotion is hate;” says Iqbal in a Facebook post.
Iqbal’s humorous language points to flaws in the storyline from the beginning to the end of the film.
“The terrorists split into two camps and rode their motorcycle and jeep through the jungle in a stunning death patch like in Hollywood movies. Finally, after the stabbing, a few mixed extremists share philosophies, quoting scriptures, reclining on rocks in the background of the jungle and forest, reminiscent of cultures such as Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro;” wrote Iqbal.
The film, which deals with terrorism, and Hindu-Muslim hatred, has received a mixed response.
The film seems to criticize the extremist activities of the majority and the minority. The main criticism is that the film twists reality and is a Sangh Parivar narrative.
Kuruthi is the new Malayalam movie directed by Manu Warrier. The film stars Prithviraj in the lead role. Roshan Mathew also plays a lead role in the new film. Kuruthi is the first solo film produced by Prithviraj Productions. The camera is by Abhinandan Ramanuja.
The film also stars Murali Gopi, Shine Tom Chacko, Shrinda, Manikandan Acharya, Neslan, Sagar Surya and Navas Vallikunnu. The lyricist is Rafeeq Ahmed. Music by Jacques Bijoy. Supriya Menon bankrolls the film under the banner of Prithviraj Productions.
