Lata Mangeshkar announces Rs 1 Cr donation to the Indian army
Pulwama Attack which saw the death of 40 CRPF Jawans shook the hearts of the whole nation. A number of celebrities came forward condemning the attack and mourned the martyred soldiers’ families. Donations poured out to the Indian Navy which once again proved the open-heartedness of Bollywood.
Not many days after Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar have announced the donation to the bereaved families of the soldiers, Lata Mangeshkar, one of the veteran singers joined them by donating Rs. 1 crore to the to the Indian Army.
The singer made the announcement on the account of her father Master Dinanath Mangeshkar’s death anniversary which is on April 24. “Many celebrities from the industry have already helped the soldiers' families. It is our responsibility to reach out to the jawans who sacrificed their lives for the nation. I want to make sure that I am part of this responsibility,” she said to one of the newspapers.
