The theaters across India are under a shut down for the last five months. Many completed films are still lying under cans, waiting for the theaters to reopen. Some of them are opting for an OTT release. Already, films like Penguin, Gulabo Sithabo, Shakuntala Devi, and Gunjan Saxena had a direct digital release. Now, a few other big films are following the route. Here are the films that are looking for an OTT release.
Nani's V skipped the theatrical release and will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 5. Malayalam film Kilometers Vs Kilometers is going to stream on Hotstar from August 20. Keerthy Suresh's Good Luck Sakhi also opted for a digital path. It will stream on Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, this movie stars Jagapathi Babu and Aadhi Pinishetty in the other lead roles. Anupama Parameshwaran's Maniyarayile Ashokan will premiere on Netflix on August 31. Dulquer Salmaan is the producer of this movie.
Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan's Coolie No:1 also opts for a digital release. It may hit the Amazon Prime Video on September 1. Keerthy Suresh's Miss India may stream mostly on Netflix. The South Indian remake versions of Queen will stream on Amazon Prime Video. The Telugu version, That is Mahalaxmi features Tamannaah as the heroine. The Tamil version and Malayalam version features Kajal Aggarwal and Manjima Mohan respectively. Payal Ghosh played the lead role in the Kannada version.
