An actor's life may seem to have a lot of glitters but it is not true in many cases. The American film Honey Boy proves the same point. Directed by Alma Har'el, it is an autobiographical drama of popular actor Shia LaBeouf. It showcases the childhood life of Shia, the relationship with his father, how he got addicted to smoking and drugs.
Moreover, Shia played the role of the father in the film. Talented young actors Noah Jupe and Lucas Hedges played the younger and older versions of the protagonist. The abusive relationship between father and son is hard-hitting. There are also ample amounts of heart-warming, and even comical scenes in the film. Totally, Honey Boy is definitely one of the best dramas that screened at this year's MAMI.
