Due to illness, director Bharathiraja was recently admitted to a private hospital in T. Nagar, Chennai. He was reportedly being treated for dehydration by the physicians, who also stated that he will be discharged in four days and sent home. However, he was moved to a different private hospital in Chennai yesterday for additional care. Bharathiraja's hospitalisation is now explained by Vairamuthu, who also provides an update on the veteran director's health. Popular poet and lyricist Vairamuthu paid a personal visit to Bharathiraja while he was in the hospital and gave a press conference as he left.
Director Bharathiraja is reportedly improving steadily and grateful to the physicians' intensive care, according to Vairamuthu. His chest is suffering from a cold, but the medical staff stated it will soon get better. His lungs have also accumulated some water, but the doctor has promised him that this will also be resolved quickly. So he warned against spreading false news and urged supporters not to be alarmed by the director's hospitalisation. Vairamuthu was recognised by Bharathiraja when they first met, and they exchanged a few words.
