Madhan Karky defends his dad Vairamuthu

Vairamuthu was named as a sexual predator in the #MeToo movement by 17 women including Chinmayi Sripaada. Recently, Vairamuthu was awarded the prestigious ONV Award for his contribution to literature. After the announcement was made, Chinmayi Sripaada, Parvathy, Anjali Menon and several netizens called out the ONV Award jury for selecting a #MeToo accused for the prestigious award. Soon after that, Chinmayi shared a series of tweets in which spoke about her ongoing court case against Vairamuthu and her blanket ban.

When some of Vairamuthu's fans asked why she invited Vairamuthu to her wedding, she said she had to invite him as his son Madhan Karky, who was her best friend, wanted her to. Madhan called it a lie on his tweet. He also said he will trust his dad in this issue. Karky wrote, ", "If a group of people hate your family and throw baseless accusations on your dad or mom, and your parent denies those accusations, who will you trust? I trust my dad. If the concerned people believe they have truth on their side, let them take it to the legal authorities (sic)."
