Madhavan was last seen in director Dhilip Kumar's Maara, which also featured Shraddha Srinath, Sshivada Nair, and Moulee in important roles. The actor has been working on his directorial debut film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect for nearly two years now. Apart from directing the film, he has also directed, written, and produced the film. According to reports, Madhavan's Rocketry: The Nambi Effect might release on April 30. However, an official announcement regarding the release date is yet to be made by the team.

 
Sources close to the Rocketry team is getting ready for a grand release and has fixed April 30 for the release. Reportedly, the post-production work is underway and the team is working on the posters and the trailers. As reported earlier, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is based on the life of science and aerospace engineer Nambi Narayanan, who worked in the Indian Space Research Organisation. He was falsely accused as a spy and was later acquitted. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect was shot in places such as India, Russia, France, Georgia, and Serbia. The film also features Simran, Rajit Kapur, Jagan, Ron Donachie, Misha Ghoshal, and Bijou Thaangjam in pivotal roles.
