Mahanati is headed to China
Mahanati, the biopic of South Indian Legendary actress Savitri, in which Keerthy Suresh played the female lead role, is going to Shanghai, China. As per the latest update, Mahanati is been selected for the 22nd edition of Shanghai International Film Festival. This event is scheduled for 15th June to 24th June.
Nag Ashwin directed Mahanati and is produced by C. Ashwini Dutt, Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt under the banners Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema and made simultaneously release in Telugu and Tamil. Mahanati which was released on 9th May 2018, was blockbuster film at box-office. Mahanati is now selected to screen in Shanghai International Film Festival. It is also said that, Mahanati is also the front-runner in grabbing a National Award in the Best Regional Film Category.
Apart from Keerthy Suresh, Mahanati also has other stars like Samantha, Vijay Deverakonda, Shalini Pandey, Nisankara, Dulquer Salmaan and others in supporting roles. Mahanati got selected in ‘International Panorama’ category and is the only Indian film to get an opportunity at this festival.
The film director Naga Ashwin has confirmed this news by saying that Savitri’s story Mahanati is headed to China with the Shanghai International Film Festival. He wrote on microblogging page, “Privileged to take our Savitri garu to China. Quite confident she will steal their hearts as well.
