The release of Maidaan, starring Ajay Devgn, has been delayed. The movie, which was originally scheduled to open on February 17, 2023, was moved up to coincide with the March 10 release of the other Ajay Devgn-starring movie Bholaa. A new release date for Maidaan has reportedly been decided upon by the film's creators.
Ajay Devgn's Maidaan will now reportedly be released on May 12, 2023, if the information is accurate. A source connected to the movie confirmed, "Maidaan is a rather ambitious film with a decently big budget. With Ajay Devgn requesting the makers of Maidaan to release the movie after the release of Bholaa, they had to reconsider a new date." The source continued on the new date, "As of now Maidaan will release on May 12, 2023. Since it is an open window with next to no release till June 2 when the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan hits screens, the movie will benefit immensely. In this period the only two releases are Yaariyaan 2 and Swatantra Veer Savarkar, both of which are expected to post no competition to Maidaan."
The new release date has not yet been officially announced. It was informed that the producers will do so in the next few days. The script and language for the movie Maidaan were written by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah, respectively. The movie was produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta. It will also be available in Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil.
