Energetic Star Ram Pothineni came back to the form in style by scoring a massive success with iSmart Shankar. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, this movie brought back Ram from the clutches of consecutive flops. With the high given by iSmart Shankar, Ram started shooting for his new film Red. This Kishore Tirumala directorial was initially slated for the release on April 9. However, all plans got ruined due to the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, major OTT platforms are trying hard to release this film directly on the internet. They have tried earlier but the makers showed no interest in releasing the film online. We hear that a major OTT platform approached the makers once again and offered a deal of Rs. 30 crores. The team has not agreed for such a lucrative deal and affirmed that the film will have a theatrical release.
According to the sources, a popular streaming platform offered Rs. 20 crores during the initial days of the lockdown. The makers of Red showed no interest at that time. Recently, yet another OTT platform tried its luck by offering more money. But even these trials went into vain. It is now proved that Red will have a theatrical release for sure.
Red is an official remake of Tamil hit Thadam. It features Malvika Sharma, Amritha Aiyer and Nivetha Pethuraj as the female leads. Mani Sharma is composing the music of it.
