On Sunday, Star Studios posted the trailer for the upcoming movie Selfiee to its YouTube channel. Akshay Kumar features as a "superstar" and Emraan Hashmi is a police officer. Emraan is shown as Akshay's "greatest fan" in the almost three-minute-long trailer. Emraan says his son wants to take a selfie with their "idol." He even threatens to divorce his wife, Nushrratt Bharuccha, if she speaks negatively about Akshay.
However, things go south when Akshay and Emraan Hashmi start to argue over Akshay's driver's license. Emraan claims he will have to obtain the license like an "ordinary man." Akshay asserts that he will do so nonetheless. The trailer includes scenes that are both funny and dramatic.
The song Main Khiladi Tu Anari is playing while Akshay and Emraan are in a disco dressed in shimmering attire. The song also features Diana Penty and Nushrratt. The original music is from the same-named 1994 film.
The upcoming masala blockbuster marks the first time Akshay and Emraan have worked together. The movie Selfiee is scheduled to open in theatres on February 24. The Malayalam film Driving License has an official Hindi version in the form of Selfiee, which Raj Mehta directs. Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu played the leading parts in the original movie. In the remake, Akshay and Emraan will reprise their respective parts.
