Malayalam Actress Gauthami Nair Pens A Special Note On 20 Years Of Dil Chahta Hai

On August 10, Farhan Akhtar's Dil Chahta Hai starring Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna completed 20 years of release. This triggered a lot of nostalgic posts from celebrities and fans on social media. Malayalam actress Gauthami Nari penned a heartfelt note on the special occasion. She wrote that she was 10 years old when she watched the film for the first time with her sister and friends. She added, "I was 10 years old when I watched this movie in the theatre in Trivandrum with my sister and her college friends. I think this was within the week of the movie release and my god, I don't think I'll ever forget it. More than paying attention to the film, my focus was on all the young college people around me. There were tons of guys, girls, couples, and gangs filled with so much energy and excitement like I had never experienced before." Gauthami also wrote how much the film means to her. She wrote, "I don’t even know if I understood what was happening on screen but I oddly knew what the movie was about since then. Whenever I heard the songs or saw any clip, it always took me back to that time in the theatre where I was sitting among people who almost had stories similar to whatever was being shown to them on the screen. I’m sure it must have been liberating for them in some way because they must have felt that somebody was able to tell their stories on such a large scale. I’m not saying such content was not made before, but I always felt that there was something so fresh and honest about this movie."
