Malayalam superstar Mammootty is upbeat about his upcoming flick Mamangam. Directed by M Padmakumar, the film is about the historical Mamangam festival that took place with much fervor in the 18th century. From the first-look posters and teasers, it is clear that Mammootty plays a warrior.
On November 2, the makers of Mamangam released the film's trailer and it looks spectacular. Since the story is set in the backdrop of the 18th century, the production design team has taken a lot of effort to recreate the era. Looking at the houses and the war sequences, one is sure to get goosebumps.
The two-minute-long trailer speaks about the valor of the men who go to Mamangam and the sacrifice of women who send their husbands/sons to represent their village. The war sequences look aesthetic on screen and it looks like another Baahubali but on a much lesser scale.
We also get a glimpse of women and small children wielding swords to take on the enemy. On the whole, Mamangam is a historical drama that will invoke patriotism in people's minds.
