Sensational filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s upcoming directorial Ponniyin Selvan is one of the most-awaited movies in Kollywood. The title font recently got launched and the tagline, ‘Beginning of the golden era’ has grabbed the attention of the audience.

Rumors are rife that Mani Ratnam is currently busy shooting for the first part of Ponniyin Selvan and will kickstart the shoot for the sequel soon and release the sequel a couple of years later. The makers also confirmed that the film will get released in two parts. Clearing the rumors, "We are filming it in one go. The story of 'Ponniyin Selvan' cannot narrated in just 150 minutes. And no filmmaker can keep the audience engrossed for four to five hours in theatres. So, the film will release in two parts in 2021,” said the sources. Also, the movie unit is confident that the film will get hailed for its technical brilliance and will be better than the Baahubali franchise. If the same happens, then Mani Ratnam's magic gest spread all over the country once again.
Being bankrolled by Madras Talkies as well as Lyca, Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Ashwin Kakumanu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha and Aishwarya Lekshmi are playing the lead roles in the film.
