Both versions have become blockbusters at the box office. Also, Sakhi still enjoys a cult fan base among the audiences. It's been 20 years for its release. Sakhi is the love story between Karthik and Shakti. They fall in love with the suburban trains of Chennai and get married eventually against the will of their parents.
