Ponniyin Selvan 1 is directed by Mani Ratnam. It recently opened in theatres. The much awaited movie has been doing well financially ever since its debut. The movie is currently on the verge of joining the Rs 450 crore club. It doesn't appear like business will slow down until the end of the month. Diwali releases will take place by the month end.

 
The film apparently shattered the Tamil Nadu box office records set by Kamal Haasan's "Vikram". It earned a gross of Rs. 50 crore from the US alone. Ponniyin Selvan surpassed "Vikram," which debuted in June of this year. And it became the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2022.
 
The makers officially revealed that the film earned 400 crores at the box office on October 13. Periodic drama "Ponniyin Selvan" has a high production budget of Rs 500 crore. Reportedly, the budget is for both installments of thr film. Now has become a blockbuster movie. The film has been strengthened by Mani Ratnam's masterful direction. The top-notch work of Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Sarathkumar, and Jayaram is seen in the film. The soundtrack, composed by AR Rahman, draws viewers deeply into the movie's plot. It also raises anticipation for the sequel. The second part of the movie will be released by the summer of 2023.
