Coronavirus continues to create havoc across the globe. In India, celebrities and politicians have come out in large numbers to create awareness about the pandemic. A video of Director Mani Ratnam’s son Nandan Manirathnam and his mother Actress Suhasini has surfaced. In the video Nandan and Suhasini explain how important it is to sacrifice fourteen to fifteen days to tackle the COVID 19 crisis. The video was put up on Twitter by Nandan’s close friend Khusbhu Sundar.
Nandan Manirathnam returned from London a few days ago. He has since then self-quarantined himself. The video shows, Nandan sitting behind a glass window. His mother Suhasini asks him a few questions and they discuss the precautionary measures that Nandan has taken. He also shares how he gets his food and how he sanitizes himself before he eats!
Nandan Manirathnam wishes to set an example. Recently, actress Kanika Kapoor has faced legal and popular backlash for her negligent behaviour. According to police reports, Kanika came back from London on March 11th. She was asked to quarantine herself for the required period by the authorities. Yet, she ignored the instructions and went on with her social engagements. The proactive step taken by Nandan has received positive reactions.
Nandan Manirathnam urges people to take precautions for the sake of themselves and the people around them. He says that he shows no signs of infections. He has decided to distance himself on a precautionary note.
