Director and producer East Coast Vijayan said that most Malayalam actresses refused to act in the film 'Kallanum Bhagavathiyum'. The director clarified the arrival of Bengali actress Moksha in the film.
"When Vishnu Unnikrishnan was cast as the lead in the film, Kullunum Bhagavathiyum, famous and infamous Malayalam actresses were approached to play the role of Bhagavathy. But no one was ready to act;" says Vijayan.
"Even after asking some famous people in Malayalam, they were not ready to respond." East Coast Vijayan said in the press conference that he felt like Moksha was a divine person to play such a role.
Anusree played another important character in the film. The story of the film is that Bhagavathy unexpectedly enters the life of Mathappan, a thief who is determined to commit suicide. Johnny Antony is another important character in the film.
