Mark Blum who is best known for his appearance in Crocodile Dundee passed away on Thursday due to Coronavirus complications. The acclaimed actor was 69 at the time of his death. Mark Blum has also famously appeared in films like 'Desperately seeking Susan' and the recent Netflix show 'You'. Mark Blum most recently appeared on the HBO series 'Succession'.
Mark Blum is also famous for his appearance in various theatre productions across the country. Most famously he was a regular player with New York's Playwrights Horizons. Taking to Twitter the off-Broadway theatre paid tribute to Blum. The tweet read, " With love and heavy hearts, Playwrights Horizons pays tribute to Mark Blum, a dear longtime friend, and a consummate artist who passed this week. Thank you, Mark, for all you brought to our theatre, and to theatres and audiences across the world. We will miss you."
Rebecca Damon who is the Executive Vice President and New York President of the Screen actors guild- American federation of television and radio artists also paid tribute to Blum. She wrote, "I always appreciated Mark's clear perception of complex situations...he always spoke the truth and did a great service in informing members of our community about the ins and outs of the union whenever he had the opportunity."
Mark Blum has marked the death of a second theatre actor from New York alone this week. Earlier Tony award-winning playwright Terrence McNally died of Coronavirus complications at the age of 81.
