Matt Reeves's The Batman halts shooting in Europe amid Coronavirus scare.

Warner Bros. has now halted the shooting and production for its upcoming film The Batman. Matt Reeves is currently directing a new take of the Batman starring Robert Pattinson. The film has been shooting all around Europe.

Now Warner Bros released an official statement that announced a two-week hiatus. "Warner Bros. Pictures feature production of The Batman will hiatus filming for two weeks beginning today," the studio said in a statement Saturday. "The studio will continue to monitor the situation closely."

The halt comes right before The Batman crew and cast were ready to travel to Liverpool for the next bit of scheduled shooting. Warner Bros is a part of a long line of production houses to have halted production for its future films. Previously Disney announced that it will be pausing shoots for The Little Mermaid and Marvel Studios' Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Sony has also rescheduled pre-production on action-comedy The Man from Toronto Saturday. Earlier today Netflix announced that they are halting Red Notice under further information. Red Notice is the latest large scale film to pause production. The film stars Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock.

The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the newest actor to play the caped crusader. Aside from Pattinson the film also stars Paul Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, John Turturro as crime boss Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred and Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham City DA Gil Colson.
