From the last couple of months, news ghas been doing the rounds on populr media, stating that either Ram Charan or
Mahesh Babu will play an important role in Chiranjeevi's upcoming film, "Acharya". But until now, the makers haven't given clarity on it. Finally,
Megastar Chiranjeevi has opened up on the speculations. He said that he doesn't know how Mahesh Babu got dragged into this news. However, he admitted that they are trying to sign up
Ram Charan for the role.
Speaking to a Telugu media daily, Chiranjeevi said, "I've mistakenly revealed the title of Acharya. I am not sure how this news came up. I have no idea how Mahesh Babu's name came into the headlines. Mahesh admires me a lot. Even I like him a lot. It will be wonderful if we get a chance to work with each other. He is like my son."
"Right from the beginning, director Koratala Siva wanted to cast Ram Charan for an important role in the movie. But, Charan is busy with
RRR's shoot now. That is why we are not sure if he can allocate dates for our film. If Koratala Siva and SS Rajamouli come to an understanding, Charan might feature in our film. If that doesn't happen, I don't know who will play that role. It is my wife Surekha's wish to see Charan and me in a complete film. We have to see if her desire comes true in the future or not," Chiru added.
The Master actor also said that this role will be an extended cameo in the film. Acharya is being directed by Koratala Siva.
Kajal Aggarwal is playing the female lead in it.
