Chhapaak movie is based on an acid attack survivor’s story and experiences. It's based on a true incident that took place in New Delhi,2005, with Laxmi Agarwal. Deepika’s Character’s name is Malti.
A week after the release of Chhapaak’s trailer, the movie is creating an immense amount of hype. With more than 40 million views on Youtube, Deepika has already set the expectations high. Her powerful acting along with the prosthetics, can be seen in the two minute-long trailer which is giving goosebumps for all. The film announcement poster read: A story of trauma, triumph and the unsquashable human spirit.
Chhapaak marks as Deepika Padukone’s first film after her wedding to Ranveer Singh in 2018. Along with Fox Star Studios, she co-produced the film as well. Deepika aka Malti experienced an emotional breakdown at the trailer launch event, earlier this week. The gossip has it that, within 10 minutes of narration, Deepika was convinced to play this part. She holds this film close to her heart.
A song titled ‘Nok Jhok’ was out earlier this week, giving a glance into the love story track. The song and the chemistry between the couple in unpopular scenarios have received a lot of love and appreciation. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have composed the music for the film.
It aims at creating public consciousness and bringing forward a brave story that played an important role in regulating the sale of the acid petition. The film is set to release alongside Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ in January 2020.
