We don't often see movies made on the health care system. Mexican documentary Midnight Family deals with such a subject. The film showcases the story of a family who runs a private ambulance service in Mexico City.
Right at the start of the film, the director tells us there are only 45 government-operated ambulances in Mexico City and thus, the private ambulance services became the lifeline sources for the citizens there. Taking the daily routine of one such family, the director managed to showcase the drama about the occupation. Even though they are getting peanuts in the job, whole family members stick to the same job and dedicated their lives to the public service.
Very rarely do we watch films like this and it will really be good to see something like this happening in Indian cinema.
Luke Lorentzen is the director of the movie Midnight Family. MAMI delegates are praising it as one of the best documentaries screened at the festival.
