Jagan Shakti got diagnosed by a condition called arteriovenous malformation (AVM). After spending two weeks in a Mumbai hospital, the director is back in shape.

When a leading daily asked him about his health, he said. “I’m good. Just coming back to the grind, and back to business. I’ll come back and show you more good cinema.”

He explained about the condition and said that it happened because the arteries and veins joined together in his brain, forming a clot. “Every year in the winter, I used to get headaches which would remain for around one week or 10 days, and then go away. Now everything is fine,” Jagan said.

He further shared that the medical condition hit his life when he had begun working on a new project and was traveling between Chennai, Mumbai, and Bengaluru trying to get the script ready. But the director still has a spirit. Talking about the script, he said that now, “it’s going to be doubly beautiful”.

He also added. “I am relaxing, but writing. That is the better way of doing things.” The director is grateful for all the aid he received from the people around him.

He gave special credit to actor Akshay Kumar. The duo worked together in films such as Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014), Pad Man (2018), and Mission Mangal. “Akshay sir is the one who brought me back... in giving me life, giving me a film, and now he has brought me back to the walkable situation,” Jagan stated.

He also mentioned the women leads of his film: Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, and Nithya Menen for being “supportive.” He stated that Vidya Balan made sure to check on his health status daily.
