Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli to soon release its past films on Digital purchase as Christmas lines up.

This will be the first time when any of the Studio Ghibli films will be released on the Digital purchase format.

Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli which is well known for many critically acclaimed films like Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke will soon have a surprise for its fans. The animation studio that is famous for its hand-drawn animation style is releasing its earlier films on the Digital Purchase format.
 
The distributor, GKIDS announced the exciting news and said that all 21 films will soon be available for purchase starting December 17th. The films will be available all throughout the US and Canada, on platforms like Apple TV, Amazon VOD, Vudu, Google Play, Sony, Microsoft, and FandangoNow.
 
This will later get followed by the Studio Ghibli films had made available on an upcoming streaming platform, HBO max, beginning in May 2020.
 
Studio Ghibli launched in 1985 by legendary directors and artists Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata. The studio has also nominated six times over the years at the Academy. It won the best-animated feature film in 2003 with Spirited Away.




Top
