He further added releasing films is a not question to be thought of now. Priyadarshan has stated that the Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham team has postponed the release of the film indefinitely. The film will probably not hit the theatres until the coronavirus scare if dealt with worldwide.
Earlier, the rumor was that the film will hit the theatres in September this year on the occasion of Onam. However, the director did not comment on this rumor. When the lockdown ends, the official date might be announced. Another rumor was that the film will be released on around 5000 screens worldwide. Priyadarshan has not commented on this rumor either.
Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham follows the tale of Kunjali Markkar IV. Kunjali Markkar IV was the naval chieftain of the Samoothiri Kingdom who lived in the 16th century. Mohanlal will be playing the lead character. The film will have a huge cast. Manju Warrier, Pranav Mohanlal, Keerthy Suresh, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Suniel Shetty, Arjun Sarja, Prabhu Ganesan, Mukesh, Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Innocent, Mamukoya will also star in the film. Priyadarshan and Ani Sasi scripted the epic film. The film is being produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group, and Moonshot Entertainments.
