N Lingusamy, The Director, And His Brother Were Each Given A Six-Month Prison Term

N Lingusamy, the director of The Warrior, is in hot water. A Saidapet court has condemned the director of the movie Paiyaa to 6 months in prison for check fraud. The judge sentenced Lingusamy and his brother Subash Chandra to six months in jail at a court hearing at the Saidapet court of session.

After a cheque for Rs. 1.03 crore bounced, N Lingusamy was brought before the court. A production business, PVP Capital, launched a lawsuit against the filmmaker for the same reason after Linguswamy failed to repay the money he had borrowed from the production house a few years prior. He reportedly gave the producing company a check, but it bounced. The decision to re-appeal the ruling at the Madras High Court has been made in the meantime by the director and his brother.

With the Mammootty-starring family drama Aanandham, Lingusamy made his directing debut in 2001. Run (2002), Sandakozhi (2005), Paiyaa (2010), and Vettai (2012) are some of the films for which he is well known. A production company called Thirupathi Brothers is owned by the filmmaker and his brother.
