In a shocking news on Saturday, the Mumbai Police has arrested the popular Hindi television actor Pearl V Puri on the grounds of rape charges against him. The actor who rose to fame with the Colors channel show Naagin, has been accused of raping a minor.
The DCP of Vasai zone, Sanjay Patil said in a statement, "The incident is old but the 17 year old minor victim complained to us along with her mother at the police station," adding further, "We registered case under Section 376 (rape) of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act(POCSO) Act, 2012." However, he refused to comment on the case further as Pearl V Puri is still demanded at the court in Vasai.
Pearl's Naagin co-star and popular television actress Anita Hassanandani dismissed the news by calling it 'nonsensical'. She took to her social media and wrote, "Woke up to some nonsensical news about @pearlvpuri I know him! It is NOT true ... canNOT be true.... all lies. I’m sure there is more to it. And the truth will be out soon. Love you @pearlvpuri #ISTANDWITHPEARL."
Pearl V Puri made his debut in the industry with the show called Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat in 2013. After he got to star in Naagin, people started recognising him for his work and he became a popular television face.
