Nandamuri Balakrishna Apologises After Sexist Remark Against Nurses

Nandamuri Balakrishna's uncensored words creates controversies that make it to the front pages. Following his rude words, Akkineni Nageswara Rao has sparked yet another uproar. The new controversy is regarding his misogynistic remarks towards nurses. During his famous talk show Unstoppable With NBK 2, he mentioned an accident. And referred to a nurse as 'hot' in a recent episode with Pawan Kalyan.

Balakrishna mentioned an old accident in the show. He said he was then cautioned not to inform the hospital staff about it. He was being informed so since it would cause the admission would take time. When he spotted a beautiful nurse, he couldn't help but reveal the truth. On the broadcast, he reportedly quipped, "Dheenamma Bhalega undi akkadi nurse (That nurse was so hot)." Certain netizens chastised him for his language use when addressing the nurse. A group of nurses were offended by the star's sexist comment and demanded an apology. Balayya quickly replied to the incident. He did so by writing an apologetic letter on his Facebook page. The actor stated that his statements were misconstrued because he has the utmost regard for nurses. The actor's apology note read, “I strongly reject the baseless claims that I slandered the nursing profession. The meaning of what I said was completely changed. I hold nurses and their work in the highest esteem. At our hospital, Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital, I have personally witnessed their excellent care. I regret if my words offended them.” Pawan Kalyan appeared as a guest in the Season 2 finale of Unstoppable with NBK. The first instalment of the episode was released on Saturday. The episode drew a huge response from viewers. The second half of the episode will be released on Friday.
