Nani said he was firmly against the OTT release proposal but he had to oblige to the requests of the producers, given the financial hardships they were going through.

“Tuck Jagadish was conceived with theatrical experience in mind. We tried our best to hold back till the conditions favor theatrical releases but it wasn’t to be. We then had to go for Amazon Prime release,” he said.

Adding further, Nani said he felt really distressed after Telangana Film Chamber and the distributor's council called him out for announcing the Amazon Prime release for Tuck Jagadish. “The distributors misread my intentions and implied I was against theatrical releases. I am clarifying this for once and for all, if any of my upcoming films skip theatrical release and premiere directly on OTT, if the conditions at that point in time are favoring theatrical releases, I will ban myself from Tollywood,” he said.

The entire cast and crew of Tuck Jagadish implied that they are indeed against OTT release but the prevailing conditions are dictating the terms and there is nothing they could do about it.

Tuck Jagadish is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on the 10th of September. The film is directed by Shiva Nirvana and it features Ritu Varma, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Jagapthi Babu in the lead roles.
