Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who was last seen in Motichoor Chaknachoor, spoke up about the practice of casting couch in Bollywood. In an interview with a leading daily, the actor said that the industry is an absolutely safe place and there are no such things. He also says that 'yeh badnaam karne ki koshish chodh dijiye'. "Casting couch has never happened to me. Jitna industry ko badnaam karne ki koshish ki ja rahi hai woh galat hai. Yeh pata nahi media ka ek chalan sa ho gaya hai ki saari buraiya hai woh industry mein dhoond rahi hai.”
He further added, "“Industry is the safest place, yeh badnaam karne ki koshish chhod dijiye. Yaha pe jinki aukaat nahi hoti hai woh bhi established ho jaate hai. Even after that, people abuse the industry.” Talking further about the industry, Nawaz said that the industry makes a non talented person into a talented one. “Everyone thinks they are talented. This industry is beautiful because it also makes a non talented person into a star.”
While the Sacred Games actor has become a worldwide known face due the show, people initially insulted him because of his looks. “No one insulted me as such. But they underestimated me. They felt I'd never be a leading star. I don't have the face to be a hero. Hero ki shakal nahi hai tumhara, aise bolte the. there were terrible financial lows. But we had friends. Ek se 3 din madad maang lete the. Phir kisi aur ke paas chale jaate the, " he added.
