Debutant director PS Vinothraj has been appreciated by critics across the country for his film Koozhangal, which received glowing reviews from the international premiere. Koozhangal is jointly produced by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan's Rowdy Pictures in association with Learn And Teach Production. Koozhangal has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film, which is titled Pebbles in English, is tipped to be based on a real incident that happened in director Vinothraj's life. Koozhangal premiered at the 50th International Film Festival Rotterdam, which took place in the Netherlands on February 4. Koozhangal became the first Tamil film to win the prestigious Tiger Award.

After nearly four months, Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara received the award. Vignesh Shivan took to social media to share a photo with Nayanthara and the award. He wrote, "With our first international award. Our #firstfilm #Pebbles #Koozhangal got us home the prestigious #TigerAward @iffr all the way from Rotterdam to Chennai as we hold it close to our heart thankful to @psvinothraj and his fabulous team for making this gem :) all the accolades and encouragement this film is garnering makes us sooo happy & proud! Thankfully sharing this image with all of you. Meantime our director is in Romania collecting his next award (sic)."
