Netflix unveils trailer for Freud!

Netflix is set to launch a new series on the Father of Psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud.

Sigmund Freud is well known in the community of psychology. He shot to fame for his questionable techniques and his wild theories.

Netflix launched a trailer for the show which will go by the title Freud. It is set to be an 8-part series.

The show will revolve around how Freud received his fame. The way Freud came up with his theories and motivations are among the themes which will be explored in this show.

Marvin Kren, the director of the show wants to present a new view of Freud. He wants to show the world what Freud felt as expressed in his books. He does not want to repeat what the world already knows about him. Kren has won awards for his work in TV and for his project Four Blocks.

According to the Sinembargo portal, Kren stated. “I would like to present an unknown Freud, a person in search of recognition that's torn between two ladies, between purpose and intuition. His psychoanalysis and the ideas of the id, the self, and the superego didn't come from nothing, based on the experiences of a tormented genius who is aware of first-hand the number of faces of the human being.”

The movie is set in Vienna but the shooting got carried out in Prague. The reason why the makers chose Vienna is that the architecture gives the dark, intense, and thrilling feeling as stated by Kren in Variety interview.

Freud is set to release on March 23rd on Netflix.
